Panasonic KX-NCP500 Expansion Cards and Voicemail   Licenses vs. Physical Cards???   With your traditional Digital phone systems, you only had the choice of adding physical cards to expand your system. The KX-NCP500 system is different. The difference is wether you will need Licenses for IP phones, or physical Cards for your traditional Digital phones. With Digital Phones:   Your KX-NCP500 is still compatible with your KX-TD7600 series and KX-DT300 series Digital phones. Just add PHYSICAL CARDS to your KX-NCP500 system. DO NOT try to use the older KX-TD7400 or KX-TD7200 series phones. These phones sucked up 4 times the power of the newer ones, and will not work. With IP Phones:   This is where things get different. Your KX-NT300 series IP phones WILL NOT be plugged into your KX-NCP500 system directly anymore. Instead they will be plugged into your LAN (Local Area Network) just like your PC's, Printers and servers are. In fact, the KX-NT300 IP phones "May" use the exact same ports on your router or network switch as your PC's are already using. Now your KX-NCP500 IP system can use your "Network" to communicate with your IP phones. Much more efficient! This is why you will not be buying physical cards to add more IP phones. Instead you will need to add "Licenses" instead. You can buy a license to add just one phone, or a larger license to add many more phones.
